The excursion «Medieval Games at Lida Castle» is a one-day tour to Lida, combining an introduction to the city’s history with a theatrical program held within one of the oldest castles in Belarus. The program includes a sightseeing tour around Lida, featuring the St. Michael’s Cathedral, the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, the monument to Gediminas, and a visit to the Lida District Center of Crafts and Traditional Culture «Spadchyna». Participants will then visit Lida Castle, built by the order of Duke Gediminas. During the production tour of the «Donarit» printing house, you will visit the printing and binding workshops, as well as the material and finished product warehouse. Founded in the 9th century, it became the first capital of the Belarusian state and the center of Orthodoxy in Eastern Europe. As you follow the tour route, you'll discover amazing sights—from the cobbled streets of the Upper Castle, where the atmosphere of majestic medieval times reigns, to the narrow streets of the city center, adorned with the graceful facades of old houses preserving the appearance of bygone eras. The famous St. Sophia Cathedral is also located here, testifying to Polotsk's importance in the formation of Orthodox culture in Eastern Europe.
