Belarusian tour operator PRPUE «Automated tourism technologies» informs:
Belarus opens its doors to foreign travelers! President Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree that establishes visa-free entry to Belarus for citizens of 80 countries, including all EU countries, the USA, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, China, Indonesia, India and others.

Decree №8 «About visa-free entry for citizens of foreign countries» was signed January 9, 2017 by President Alexander Lukashenko. This decree establishes visa-free entry to Belarus for a period not more than 5 days at the entrance through the National Minsk Airport.

Foreign travelers need to have some documents to enter in Belarus without a visa:

  • a passport or other equivalent document;
  • money in the currency or Belarusian rubles in the amount of 46 BYN per day
    (46 BYN ≈ 23,5 U.S. dollars ≈ 22,3 €);
  • medical insurance policy in the amount of 10 000 €, operating in Belarus.
The list of visa-free countries included migration favorable countries, strategic partners of Belarus and country, that established a visa-free regime for Belarusian citizens. The new rules apply to persons without Estonian or Latvian citizenship. A full list of the visa-free countries represented on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

Decree on visa-free entry is aimed at enhancing business travelers, tourists, individuals and will not apply to foreigners who carried out diplomatic and official trip.

New visa-free rules does not apply to persons coming to Belarus by flights from Russia, because the border controls are not carried out on these flights.

The new rules of visa-free entry to Republic of Belarus will take effect one month after the official publication of the presidential decree.
