News : Excursion to Zhirovichi

On the eve of Easter, April 15, the Belarusian excursion portal Ekskursii.by invites everyone on an excursion to Slonim-Zhirovichi-Synkovichi. The excursion will acquaint you with the main spiritual center of our country - the male Holy Assumption Monastery in Zhirovichi.

Holy Assumption Monastery in Zhirovichi - is the largest Orthodox monastery in our country, in which numerous pilgrims flock not only from Belarus but also from neighboring countries to worship the unique image of theMother of God Zhirovichskaya – the smallest of the miraculous icons. Also in the monastery is the Cross, with the relics of the holy saints of God. On the territory of the monastery is a font in which you can plunge, a chapel where you can type holy water, monastic shops, where you can buy candles, an icon or a cross, and also eat what the monks are preparing. Excursions are conducted by novices, who tell about life and way of life of monks, as well as about miracles of the icon of Zhirovichi Mother of God.

In addition to the Holy Assumption Monastery in Zhirovichi, you will see the architectural ensemble of the former Bernardine monastery in the town of Slonim which includes the buildings of the baroque church and monastery, the Benedictine monastery, the 18th century town hall, the synagogue and the church of St. Andrew the Apostle - an outstanding late Baroque work in Belarus. At the end of the excursion you will visit the unique church кof the defensive type of the late XV - early XVI century in Synkovichi.
