Festive events on the Stalin Line
24-July-2012Historical-cultural complex «Stalin's Line» Minsk region report:
28 July celebrations, dedicated to the 82nd anniversary of the Marines and special operations forces, will be held at the Stalin Line – in the historical and cultural complex, which in the years of the great Patriotic war was a chain of fortifications, stretching along the state border of the USSR - from Karelian isthmus to the shores of the Black sea.
Some time Stalin's Line was a military fortification object of a length of about 1,200 km. It consisted of 23 special areas, including more than 4 000 long-term firing points (Bunkers).
Today Stalin's Line is a military-historical Museum under the open sky, covering an area of approximately 26 hectares. Here are recreated trenches and dugouts, preserved Bunkers and artillery command observation posts, between which once held extensive system of trenches. In the historical Museum of reconstructed the unique system of ventilation and release of powder gases, as well as the system of centralized water-cooling machine-guns.
In the frames of the program 28 July in historical-cultural complex «Stalin's Line» will take place:
- Demonstration of samples of armament, military and special equipment (from 10.00);
- Performance of the national team of special operations forces in parachute sport;
- Demonstration performances of the soldiers-commandoes and scouts hand-to-hand combat, show engagements;
- Concerts;
- Festive salute.
