International music festival «Zolotoy shlyager» was first organized in November 1995 with the support of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

Festival «Zolotoy shlyager» - a unique phenomenon in the cultural life not only of the republic and the region, but also in the international arena as a whole. This is a wonderful celebration of music and songs, it always distinguished, and highly poetic word, profound lyricism and intimacy, as the idea of ​​the festival was originally arose out of a desire to bring together the "forgotten" artists that make up the "golden fund" of Soviet songs.
