Memorial complex «The Mound of Glory» — the monument of the Great Patriotic War located in the Smolevichy district, on the 21 km of  highway Minsk — the National airport «Minsk».

In these parts in July, 1944 during the largest offensive operation «Bagration» got to an environment 105-thousand group of Hitlerite armies. This event received the name «Minsk copper». Defeat of this group came to the end on July 11 and became one more solving step on a way to liberation of Belarus.

Construction of The Mound of Glory which began in November 1967, became business national. Thousand people considered as the duty to make the contribution and brought here earth handfuls. The memorial was created by a group of authors as a part of the national artist, sculptor A.Bembel, sculptor A.Artimovich, architects O. Stakhovich and L.Mickiewicz, and also engineer B. Laptsevich.

General height of a memorial makes of 70,6 meters. An earth hill in height of 35 meters the sculptural composition from four bayonets revetted with the titan, with height 35,6 meters everyone crowns. Bayonets symbolize the 1st, the 2nd, the 3rd Belarusian and the 1st Baltic the fronts releasing Belarus. From the barrow bottom, surrounding it, to a monument conduct two concrete ladders, each of which has 241 steps.

Opening of The Mound of Glory took place in 1969.
