Granite quarry in Mikashevichi - the largest quarry in Belarus, in which granite has been mined for 40 years. The first explosion here was made in 1973 and the area of the quarry is constantly increasing every year. Now it is 2 km wide and 3 - long and 150 m deep, which is 20 m below the level of the Baltic Sea. In 1975, «Granit», one of the largest mining and processing enterprises in Europe, began operating on the basis of the quarry. Unusual mountain landscape for Belarus is not violated even by BelAZ giants, which are driving along a winding road leading to the bottom of the quarry and back.
