The excursion program
During the tour, you will visit Freedom Square and the Trinity Suburb, learn the history of the Island of Courage and Sorrow, admire the majestic architecture of Independence Avenue, and see one of the most striking modern landmarks of the capital – the National Library of Belarus. Additionally, you will take a trip along Pobediteley Avenue and get acquainted with its key sites. You will see Minsk-Arena – a modern sports and entertainment complex that impresses with its scale – and learn about the significant events that have taken place there.

The gates of the city
(visual inspection)The city gates - a complex of quarters located in front of the station building. It is perceived as the main entrance to the city from the railway and bus stations and also it is a symbol of the capital, it's business card, decorating more than one hundred postcards and magnets.
The solemnity of perception is reinforced by two eleven-story "twin towers" symmetrically placed in the corners of five-storey apartment houses. On the upper levels there are sculptures of peasants, workers, and Red Army soldiers. On one of the towers are the biggest watches in Belarus (diameter more than 3.5 m) created more than a hundred years ago in Gemany, which were brought to Belarus as a trophy of the Great Patriotic War. -
Freedom Square
Not each city can brag of 2 centers – the Belarusian capital was lucky here. Besides the modern center with the Government house, the historic center with a symbol of city self-government – a town hall remained. The graceful small streets surrounding it with fancy lines of houses, medieval temples and monasteries – all this gives to Liberty Square special unique color. From all city not only tourists, but also locals are flown down here to feel spirit of old times and to enjoy live music of streets. -
Ruins of Minsk ancient castle
(visual inspection)The small hill on Svislochi Embankment and also the model of the base of the first city temple in natural size — here, perhaps, all that reminds today of medieval fortress. According to one of versions, ancient Mensk which was built up at merge of two rivers and is surrounded with an earth shaft is founded here. Anyway, the place this picturesque is also fanned by legends and legends. -
Trinity suburb
Trinity Suburb is a cozy corner of old Minsk with picturesque streets, 18th–19th century houses, and the Svislach River embankment. It offers charming courtyards, atmospheric cafes, and museums. A perfect spot for a stroll and beautiful photos. -
Island of courage and sorrow
“Island of Courage and Sorrow” is a memorial complex dedicated to Belarusian internationalist soldiers who perished in Afghanistan between 1979 and 1989. Over 30,000 Belarusians took part in the war, of whom 789 were killed, 12 went missing, and 718 were left disabled. This memorial is an essential part of Belarusian history, symbolizing the memory of those who lost their lives in combat outside their homeland.

A sports complex Minsk-Arena
(visual inspection)Minsk-Arena is the largest sports complex in Belarus, hosting grand ice shows, championships, and concerts of world stars. Modern infrastructure, an ice arena, a velodrome, and a speed skating stadium make it the perfect place for active recreation and unforgettable experiences. -
Nezavisimosti Avenue
(visual inspection)The eponymous handout originates from Independence Square though earlier it changed the name 14 times. It is the central and largest highway of Minsk, the large-scale work of art and the keeper of memory. He remembers a great number of politicians, writers, artists… Nezavisimosti Avenue — the only example of so long site of urban development where it was succeeded to keep unity of a form and style fully. The avenue applied for entering into the List of the World heritage of UNESCO. -
National Library of Belarus
(visual inspection)«You love the book because it – a source of wisdom, knowledge and science, medicine as a hobby» – was recommended to us by the Belarusian first printer Francis Scorina. He will meet you at a main entrance in National library of Belarus. It became not only storage of any type of books, but also a monument of modern architecture. To look at it guests of their different cities and countries of the world gather. And the open survey area where from height of 73 meters it is possible to look at Minsk crowns her - excellent types will open to you as in day, and in the evening. -
