Church of God body in Ikazn
The Ikazn Church was founded in the early 16th century by Ivan (Jan) Sapieha. Subsequently, the church burned down and was rebuilt several times, most recently after Napoleon's attack in 1812, when it was restored in 1814. In the early 20th century, permission was granted to build a new stone church, consecrated in 1912. During Soviet times, the building was used as a grain storage facility and a warehouse for building materials, but after restoration in 1990, the church reopened and remains in use today.
Corpus Christi Church is a monument of Neo-Romanesque architecture. It is a two-tower, three-nave basilica with a transept and chancel. The massive square towers with tented roofs resemble defensive structures. The walls are decorated with «Braslav Mosaic» — patterns made of chiseled stone, creating a beautiful decorative effect.
This church is a popular destination for tourists and pilgrims. Guided tours allow visitors to learn about its rich history, admire its unique architecture, and appreciate its ancient interior. The combination of defensive elements and artistic murals attracts special interest. Visitors can enjoy the atmosphere of the past and take beautiful photos in front of this historic monument. Nearby, tourist routes connect to the region’s cultural heritage.
