House officers

Type: Objects of culture Date of Foundation: 1934 - 1939 yy Status: Republican value

The Central House of Officers on Krasnoarmeyskaya Street, 3, is one of the most iconic architectural landmarks in Minsk. Built between 1934 and 1939 under the guidance of architect Iosif Langbard, it is a unique example of reconstruction. Initially, the site housed the Pokrovskaya (Cross) Church of the former Archbishop's residence, but after its reconstruction, the building became an important cultural and educational center.

Today, the Central House of Officers serves multiple purposes. It houses the Army Ideological Work Center, a cultural and methodological center, a library with a collection of over 120,000 books, the Academic Song and Dance Ensemble, a drama theater, a studio for military artists, and foreign language courses.

Excursions from Minsk that include a visit to the Central House of Officers provide an opportunity to learn about the history of the building, its architectural features, and its role in Belarusian cultural and military life. Participants will have the chance to see unique interiors, learn about the reconstruction process, and explore various exhibits.

You can book an excursion that includes the Central House of Officers as part of tours in Minsk or broader travel itineraries around Belarus. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with the history and culture of the country.
