The monument is made of rare light-gray granite brought from Bashkortostan. The majestic 2.5-meter-high statue of David of Grodno depicts him on horseback. In one hand, he holds a sword, and in the other, a cross symbolizing his devotion to Christian traditions. At the base of the monument, you can see bas-reliefs depicting the Grodno Castle and the Kalozha Church, where, according to legend, the commander was buried. The monument stands on a massive pedestal, giving it a particularly monumental appearance.

Who contributed to the creation of the monument?

The idea of erecting the monument belonged to the Grodno Diocese of the Belarusian Orthodox Church, with financial support provided by patron Anatoly Karabach. The author of the sculpture was Minsk-based sculptor Sergey Organov, and the monument was created in the capital before being transported to Grodno.
