Shrimp Farm

Type: Industrial buildings Date of Foundation: 2025 year Status: Without a category Brest region, Lyakhovichsky district, Olkhovtsy village, Central'naya street, 17

In the Belarusian outback, among the fields and forests of the Lyakhovichi District, there is a place that is hard to imagine — a shrimp farm. Its founder, Vladimir Gotovchits, an economist by education, decided to try this experiment after returning from Moscow to his homeland. The idea came from a simple observation: Belarus already has almost everything, but no one raises shrimp.

Vladimir invested his own funds into the building of a former school. Three years were spent on reconstruction: equipping the premises, drilling two wells, creating a complex water treatment and temperature maintenance system — because the water in the pools must be kept at 28 degrees Celsius for the shrimp's comfort.

The farm raises Rosenberg shrimp — one of the most valuable commercial species in Asia. And in March 2026, new inhabitants appeared here — Australian crayfish (more than 1,500 juveniles and 15 adults).

Initially, Vladimir did not plan to conduct excursions — it was purely a production facility. But the high level of public interest changed his plans.

"Over time, it became obvious that this production cannot be hidden. It seems to me that it will be useful and interesting for everyone to see. It proves that nothing is impossible if you want it badly enough," the farm founder shares.

What awaits visitors:
- a demonstration line with shrimp, where all conditions are created for observing their life;
- a talk about the technology of growing shrimp in Belarusian conditions;
- observation of Australian crayfish — the farm's new residents;
- tasting of treats — guests are welcomed with aromatic tea and pancakes.

The Shrimp Farm is the only place in Belarus where you can see how real southern shrimp are grown among Belarusian fields. A unique excursion that proves: nothing is impossible if you truly desire it!
