The ruins of the castle in Geraneny

The lock in Geranenakh - a monument of castle construction of 15-16 centuries. It is built on an artificial earth embankment. His walls formed a square of 27x27 m, at every turn which there were stone towers. Walls of two-meter thickness have been put in the equipment of "a striped laying", i.e. ranks of stones and bricks alternated. Towers are revetted with a brick. Towers of the lock had the cylindrical form, diameter of their 8 m.

At the western wall of the lock the wooden palace, was in his place later the two-storeyed stone building has been built. All windows of the palace have been turned in the castle yard. A peaked tile roof in the center the small turret with a weather vane in the form of a stork crowned. At the edges of her on metal cores stars from a tin have been established.

On the place of the lock ditches, earth shaft, small fragments (1 — 2 m in height) stone cylindrical towers have till today remained.
