History of Creation
The Holy Trinity Church in Volchin was built between 1729 and 1733 at the initiative of Kazimierz Sapieha, a well-known Belarusian-Lithuanian magnate. At that time, Volchin was a significant cultural and religious center. The church became an important spiritual stronghold for local residents and a prominent part of the Sapieha estate complex. In the 18th century, it gained special popularity due to royal visits and the high status of the parish. After the partitions of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, the church experienced difficult times: during the Soviet period, it was abandoned, and restoration work began only in the 21st century.
