The building is a former nobility school

The building of the former noble school was opened in Rogachov in 1907 thanks to the financial support of the Iolshin family, well-known patrons of the city. The greatest contribution to its construction was made by the widow of State Councilor Varvara Iolshina, who donated a significant sum for the establishment of the educational institution. For a long time, it served as an important educational center, but its history was not an easy one. During World War II, the building suffered severe damage due to a fire, and it was only restored in the 1950s. Today, this architectural monument of the pre-revolutionary era continues its existence as Secondary School No. 2, remaining one of the few preserved historical buildings in Rogachov.

Architecture

The school building is designed in the Neoclassical style, highlighted by its symmetrical façade, massive window openings, and strict architectural elements. It was one of the most advanced buildings of its time: it was among the first in the city to have a steam heating system and a water supply delivered via an electric pump. On the second floor, there was originally a house church, adding to the historical significance of the building.
