Chernyshev-Kruglikov Palace in Chechersk
To book a tourThe Chernyshev-Kruglikov Palace in Chechersk is an architectural monument of the XIX century, combining the features of Romanticism and late Gothic. The architectural decoration is typical for the period of eclecticism. The palace has an asymmetrical T-shaped plan. It was built in 1774 when the city Chechersk was transferred to General Field Marshal of the Russian Empire Count Chernyshev. A variety of styles is caused by the repeated restructuring of the building, which was completed only in 1860.
The luxurious palace was the summer residence of the former owners of the town - the counts Chernyshev-Kruglikov. It was visited by Catherine II, Nicholas I and Alexander II.
Today the building has remained bad. A balconies and a summer terrace with a cast-iron casting suggest about former beauty and grandeur.
Currently, the building houses an art workshop and a center of crafts, ethnography and folklore.
