Holy Intercession Church in Oktyabr

St. Pokrovsky Church is located on the outskirts of a picturesque village and is one of the finest examples of traditional wooden architecture from the early 20th century. At the intersection of the nave and the slightly expressed transept, there is an octagonal lantern drum crowned with a spire and a small dome.

Facade Decoration and Design

The walls of St. Pokrovsky Church are horizontally clad with wooden boards and decorated with pilasters. Triangular pediments with sloping roofs highlight the transept branches, the end sections of the narthex, and the altar wall above the lowered apse. The tented roof forms a stepped transition from the lantern drum to the main body, emphasizing the harmony of the architectural solution.
