The building first College of nobility
The Building of the First Noble School is a historical landmark of the town, located opposite the local House of Culture. This beautiful red brick building, constructed in the 19th century, has changed its function several times throughout its history. Today, the building is actively used as a Youth Creativity Center, where various cultural events and activities for young people take place.
History
The noble school was opened in 1863 as an educational institution for children from wealthy noble families. Initially, it was a two-grade school, but in 1858 the program was expanded and it became a three-grade institution. As a result of the 1863 uprising, the school was transformed into a public school. Over the following decades, the building housed a general education school, a military hospital, and an evening school — each phase reflecting the historical changes in the region.
Architecture
The school building is a typical example of 19th-century educational architecture. Its facade is made of high-quality red brick, featuring clean lines and minimal decorative elements. Rectangular windows, symmetrical structure, and the absence of excessive ornamentation emphasize the functional purpose of the building. Thanks to regular restoration, the building has preserved its original historical appearance and attracts tourists and architecture enthusiasts alike.
Excursions
The building of the first noble school is a popular destination for excursions across Belarus. Visitors can explore the history of the educational institution and its architectural features, while also learning about the cultural life of the region. You can book an excursion with a guided tour of the building as part of an excursion from Minsk. Its convenient location in the center of Pruzhany makes it an essential stop on any sightseeing itinerary.
