The Water Mill in the village of Luzhki, Sharkovshchina District, is a unique monument of industrial architecture from the 19th – early 20th centuries. The basement floor of the building is made of rubble stone, while the two upper floors were added with bricks in 1912. Today, the mill is an interesting site for tourists participating in tours around Belarus.

History of Creation

The mill was built in the 19th century when the development of agriculture and industry required new facilities for grain processing. Initially, the building served purely functional purposes. Later, in 1912, to expand its capacity, the second and third floors were added using brick, giving the mill a more modern look for its time.
