Roadside Chapel in Halshany is an architectural monument of the late 19th century, located on Zamkovaya Street in the Oshmyany District of the Grodno Region. It is a three-tiered tower with niches, one of which contains a wooden sculpture of Jesus Christ carrying the cross. The chapel stands on the path from the Church of Saint John the Baptist to the ruins of Halshany Castle, serving as a spiritual landmark for both locals and travelers.

History

The chapel was built in 1897 and has preserved its original appearance ever since. It served as a place of prayer for passing travelers and symbolized spiritual protection on the road between two important religious and historical landmarks of Halshany — the church and the castle.

The structure is a three-tiered tower with niches at each level. In one of the niches stands a wooden sculpture of Jesus Christ with the cross, presumably dating back to the 18th century. The chapel features a modest design typical of roadside chapels of that era.

The roadside chapel is part of the historical and cultural heritage of Halshany. It complements the architectural ensemble of the agrotown, which includes Halshany Castle, the Franciscan church, and other heritage sites.
