Park Bolteniki
Boltiniki Park is a picturesque landscape park located in the agro-town of Boltiniki in the Voronovo District of the Grodno Region, Belarus. This place attracts not only with its natural beauty but also with a romantic story linked to the name of Adam Mickiewicz.
History
The park was established in the late 18th — early 19th century at the estate of the Putkamer family. Among its shady alleys and rare trees, the touching love story of poet Adam Mickiewicz and Maryla Wereszczak unfolded. She was married off to landowner Putkamer, but her heart belonged to Mickiewicz. It is believed that the lovers met secretly in the park, and a boulder with a carved cross remains as a symbol of their eternal love.
The park is designed in the style of a romantic landscape garden. To this day, it is home to around 60 species of rare and exotic trees and shrubs for Belarus. Elements of the estate architecture have survived: a wing building, an ice cellar, and several outbuildings. In the past, wooden benches and flower beds adorned the park, creating an atmosphere of comfort and tranquility.
