Troitsk church in Telyadovichi
History of the Construction of the Telyadovichi Holy Trinity Church
The church was built in 1792 with funds from the Nesvizh Benedictine Convent as a Uniate (Greek Catholic) church. After the reunification of the Uniates with the Orthodox Church in 1839, the building was transferred to the Orthodox community, and in 1868 it was reconstructed while preserving elements of Belarusian folk architecture and adding features of Russian classicism. Despite turbulent times, during the Soviet period the Holy Trinity Church remained open and became a spiritual stronghold for the residents of the Kopyl district when other churches were destroyed or closed.
In 1923, Father Valeryan Novitsky became the rector of the church. In 1930 he was arrested and executed together with Father Pyotr Grudinsky. Later, both were canonized as holy martyrs. In the 21st century, the church celebrated its 220th anniversary, and next to the main building a winter church was built in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God “The Sign,” where services are held during the cold season.
Architecture and Interior Design of the Church
The Telyadovichi Holy Trinity Church is a wooden structure with a cruciform layout built on a brick foundation. Its architecture combines elements of Belarusian folk design, classicism, and the Neo-Russian (retrospective Russian) style. After the 1868 reconstruction, the church acquired its characteristic onion-shaped domes and an octagonal bell tower rising above the entrance.
The interior is decorated with wooden cornices and pilasters painted to resemble marble. The eastern part features two small sacristies, and in the vestibule stands a life-sized wooden statue of an angel carved by Minsk artisans. In 2012, restoration and roofing works began, and plans include completing a three-dome ensemble.

It is believed that prayer in this church strengthens faith and heals the soul. According to legend, the wooden statue of the angel placed in the vestibule protects the parish and everyone who enters the church with pure intentions.
