The historical center of Zaslavl is the true heart of one of the oldest cities in Belarus, located just 25 kilometers from the capital. This area preserves architectural, archaeological, and urban planning monuments dating from the 10th to the 19th centuries. It is part of the historical and archaeological reserve «Zaslavl» and includes significant cultural and public facilities that blend harmoniously with the landscape and the atmosphere of the old town.

History

Zaslavl was founded in the 10th century and developed over the centuries as a center of spiritual, military, and administrative life. The city has witnessed key events in the history of East Slavic lands, evidenced by archaeological finds and architectural landmarks. Zaslavl has retained its historical layout and residential buildings from the 19th–20th centuries, while integrating museums, cultural institutions, and ancient structures into the modern environment.
