RUE "Adamas BSU" is the only plant in Belarus engaged in diamond synthesis. This enterprise, affiliated with the country's leading university – Belarusian State University, not only conducts scientific research but also produces products in high demand across various industries.

How are synthetic diamonds produced?

The process of creating synthetic diamonds at the "Adamas BSU" plant is based on the High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) method. Special presses are used to generate pressures of up to 5-6 GPa and temperatures exceeding 1300-1600°C. Under these conditions, carbon crystallizes, forming diamonds that are identical to natural ones in their physical and chemical properties.

In addition to the HPHT method, the plant is also engaged in research in the field of Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) technology. This method allows diamonds to be grown in layers, creating high-purity crystals used in electronics, optics, and other high-tech industries.

Where are diamonds used?

Synthetic diamonds produced in Belarus are applied in a wide range of industries. In medicine, they are used for manufacturing surgical instruments, laser scalpels, and prosthetics, enhancing the precision of operations and the durability of medical equipment. In optics and electronics, diamonds serve as the foundation for lenses, sensors, high-sensitivity devices, and semiconductors, ensuring reliability and efficiency in modern technologies. In the jewelry industry, synthetic diamonds are used to create gemstones that are visually and qualitatively indistinguishable from natural stones. In industry, these diamonds are indispensable for metalworking, construction, mining, and aerospace applications, where high strength and wear resistance of materials are required.
