Alley of the righteous people of the world in Bobruisk
To book a tourThe alley was opened in Bobruisk in 2005. It was timed to the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the city from the German occupation. The authors of the project are well-known Belarusian architect and chairman of the Union of Jewish Public Associations and Communities Leonid Levin and his daughter Galina.
The length of the alley is about 30 meters. 15 spruces and willows are planted along it. There are 15 boulders near it, where you can see the engraved names of Righteous people of the world - the citizens of Bobruisk and Shchedrin, who saved Jews from the Nazis during World War II.
There is the large boulder with the height about 1.5 m and with the width about 2 m at the end of the alley. At the same time looking at it you can see a top of a tree - a symbol of everlasting life, and a half broken heart - a symbol of sorrow and grief. The stone has an inscription in Belarusian and Hebrew.
The alley is created by money provided by the charity organization located in the Netherlands, as well as by people's donations. The Bobruisk Jewish community and Jewish religious community «Or Avner» (Moscow) also provided financial support. reveal all text
