Victory Square is a memorial complex. It is an eternal monument dedicated to soldiers killed during the liberation of Bobruisk from the Nazi invaders in summer of 1944. Victory Squire was founded in Bobruisk more than 25 years ago on the place where the public garden named after the Soviet commander B.Baharov was once located.

The memorial complex dedicated to the residents of Bobruisk who during the Great Patriotic War were fighting under the banner of the 1st Byelorussian Front, is located on Victory Square. In 1944 the commander of the 9th Tank Corps, Major-General B.Baharov was buried there. He took part in the liberation of Bobruisk from the Nazi invaders. After the war a tank T-34 as a monument was erected on his grave. Today you can see 10 stars on the tank. It is the number of enemy tanks destroyed by the commander during World War II. There is an interesting monument located under the shelter of three birch trees - a five-pointed star made of white marble. If you look attentively, you will see the engraved number 8810 on one of its rays. It is the number of people killed in Bobruisk during the Great Patriotic War. In the center of the memorial there is a stone surreal flame that burns eternally there...

In 1958 obelisks were erected on Victory Square in memory of the soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic war. In 1985 there was the reconstruction of the memorial complex in Bobruisk. But the memorial got its modern look only in 2005 when it was the 60th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Instead of a small public garden appeared a spacious square that later became one of the most beautiful places in Bobruisk. The architect was E.Agunovich.

Today the tank T-34 is the center of the memorial composition. It is placed on a low, but broad pedestal. Nearby thare are 6 black marble gravestones of died Soviet soldiers: Major-General B.Baharov, Lieutenant Colonel K.Vorobjev, Sergeant N.Baryshev, Lieutenant G.Logachev, Lieutenant-Colonel A.Pribylsky. Behind the monument you can see decorative flowers, a swimming pool with lighting and benches having original forms. During the reconstruction about 80 trees were planted on Victory Square. Among them there were willows, birchs, chestnuts and blue spruces. reveal all text
