«Belarusfilm» — the national film studio, which since its foundation in 1924 has become the center of filmmaking in Belarus. It was established following a decision by the government of the Belarusian SSR to organize its own cinematography. The first films were shot both in Minsk and at Moscow and Leningrad studios. Only in 1928 was the first Belarusian film factory "Soviet Belarus" opened in Leningrad.
