Minsk International Airport

Minsk National Airport - the main air gateway of Belarus. It is located in 42 km from the center of Minsk in Smolevichi district, in 7 km from the highway E30 Brest-Moscow.

Airport has international status and provides flights to more than 58 international destinations in the CIS countries, Western Europe, the Middle East.

The greatest number of flights carried out in the directions of Moscow, Warsaw, Kiev and Prague.

There are two runways: one with a length of 3,641 meters and a width of 60 meters, the other with a length of 3,700 meters and a width of 60 meters.

Untill the building of this airport the capital of the Belarusian SSR was served by the airport «Minsk-1", located in the city. The construction of the new airport «Minsk-2» started in 1977, 40 km from the capital. Construction it was going at a fast pace at that time. Already in 1979 it was put into operation runway of length of 3640 m and width of 60 meters.

In 1981, the airport «Minsk-2» was able to take aircraft, and in 1982 was made the first passenger flight on the TU-134 under the leadership of the commander crew Vasily Alexandrovich Tolstik. So, gradually the airport «Minsk-2» (now Minsk International Airport) began to function.

There are several bars, cafe, a restaurant, shop, currency exchange, contact points, ATMs, self-service terminals, points connection services of cellular operators, pharmacy, medical point, hairdresser, repair shop clothes and shoes, etc in the terminal building. All the information about the number of sector of departure or arrival can be seen on the big monitors inside the airport. Registration hall is located on the third floor.
