Yakub was born near the picturesque origins of Neman. From an early age, he was fascinated by literature: at the age of 12 he wrote poetry in the Belarusian language. These were the first steps on the big road, about which you have to learn in his homeland. Yakub Kolas is a classic of Belarusian literature and a person who encourages his students and readers to seek joy and healthy feelings in their souls: in Nesvizh, where he graduated from the Teacher's Seminary and published the first Belarusian poems, at the main gate of the Yakub Kolas College, students meet and see off his words: «Brother! Great road is waiting for us and morherland - the harvest has come, there is a lot of work, - sow the seed of science.»

To Alnut - the childhood and youthful years of Yaqub Kolas is connected with this place. From here he went to national school to Nikolayevshchina, here has written the first poem. Exactly from here he has gone to study to Nesvizhsky teacher's seminary and exactly here came back every summer being already young teacher. To Alnut - that Porechye, described by him in the poem «New Zyamlya». The poem which is considered by right a literary masterpiece of Belarus and the description of the whole era in life of the Belarusian people has formed the basis of an exposition of the museum. It will be interesting to you to visit the place where the talent of the poet has grown. -

The memorial estate of Yaqub Kolas «Smolnya» - the place with the special atmosphere of the Belarusian country life of the beginning of the last century. It is the house in which Yaqub Kolas and Janka Kupala - colleagues and friends have for the first time met. Here he worked on great works: «New land», «Symon-muzyka», «On the rostanyakh». Here he has spent the last 11 years the lives. Constructions of the yard, furniture and household items, a collection of fine and surprising pictures from wool - all this and many other things will open to you in Smolna.
