News : Museum of national life and old technologies opened in Belovezhskaya Pushcha

In the heart of the old forest on the farm Pererovoon the site of the disappeared forester's house, where once was the local forest with stables, opened a Museum of folk life and ancient technologies.

The authors have tried to recreate the idea of life of local residents of the second half of the XIX century. In the museum you can learn about the life of four generations inhabiting of the forest and their special way of life.

Exhibits were going to nearby villages. The museum collection contains authentic things of Forest residents, each of which is impregnated with the spirit of the old time. Among the items presented various purse of woven straw and bark, barrels and tubs, stupas for butter, ice skates for winter fun. There were even «Postoli» - a kind of overshoes, only hand sewn by patchwork rubber.

Separate rooms of the museum is reserved for female crafts, where you can see the embroidered towels and woven bedspreads, and the loom on which rootstock craftswoman weaving creates masterpieces listed in the List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Belarus. In the corner there is a sleeping old cradle that hung from the ceiling and shakes, baby walkers ...

Also the house-museum has another house - the tasting room. Here you can try the local food and drinks. Of particular interest is the small «Brewery»,which produce and sell «drink Pushchanskiy origina». Here you will see the workshops of local craftsmen - wood carvers and potters.
