The memory of hundreds of thousands of Jews from Belarus and Western European countries who became victims of the Holocaust and found their final resting place on Belarusian soil is immortalized in the "Yama" Memorial. This memorial was created at the site of one of the most horrific pogroms of March 1942. The composition of the memorial symbolizes a deep pit, leading to which is a staircase flanked by 27 intertwined figures. These nameless images, devoid of individual features, embody the fates of thousands of people whose lives were tragically cut short in this place.
