Uspensky monastery - the operating orthodox monastery on a place of the former village Pustynki, is located in 500 m from border with Russia.

1380 when as the legend says, gone blind prince Lugven, having washed water from local stream, by miracle has begun to see clearly. On this place the prince has put a chapel and ordered to base a monastery. Till 1601 the monastery belonged to orthodox church of Lithuania, then was under management unit churches, with 1839 — Russian orthodox church. In this time it collapsed repeatedly, burned and again restored. After revolution a monastery have closed. Temples have destroyed, in other constructions have placed school and children”s home.

After war have left also these buildings. Nearby 10 nowadays existing buildings were saved partially. After war orthodox monks have come to a monastery, have cleaned garbage, have asphalted paths... On a place well-known streem have restored church, equipped a swimming bath. Streem and today cures people - here constantly there are pilgrims, involves believers and wonderfully shown on a wall of Pokrovsk church a face of the Christ.
