Zanaroch

Zanaroch - urban village, located on the southern shore of Lake Naroch in Miadel district, Minsk region in the national park «Narochansky». Through the village passes the motohway P60, leading to the resort village Naroch. Distance to the Myadel city is 25 km, to the Minsk city - 140 km.

The first mention of the settlement dates back to the second half of XV: Zanaroch belonged to the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and then Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. In 1795 in the result of the third partition of Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth the territory was annexed by the Russian Empire.
During the First World War Zanaroch were occupied by German troops. Now in the urban village Zanaroch found fortifications, testifying about the events of those times.
The Second World War also left a trail of blood in the history of the village. Fascist invaders was shot 41 inhabitant of the village It was completely burned except of the one stone house.
After the war, the village was rebuilt. In 2005 it was granted the status of urban village.

To the sights of the urban village Zanaroch include Holy Transfiguration Church, Stella in memory of those killed in Second World War, fortifications of First World War and wind power generators.

Not far from the village is situated health resort «Zhuravushka» (6 km), health-improving complex «Chaika» (10 km) and tourist complex «Nanosy» (11 km).
