History of the development - Zhodishki

The first written mention of Zhodishki dates back to 1511. In 1553 a church was founded in the settlement. At the end of the XVI-XVII centuries Calvin church and a church were founded he. In the second half of the XVII century the land was in the possession of the Mickiewicz, during which the Jesuit monastery and collegium were founded. In 1774, King and Grand Duke Stanislav Augustus Poniatowski granted Zhodishki Magdeburg Law.

As a result of the third partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1795 Zhodishki became part of the Russian Empire. During the First World War, the German troops occupied the settlement, in 1918-1920 - the Bolsheviks and the Polish army. According to the Riga Peace Treaty of 1921, Zhodishki found themselves in the interwar Polish Republic. In 1939 Zhodishki entered the BSSR. During the Great Patriotic War from June 1941 to July 1944 Zhodishki were under German occupation.
