Legend "Shumilino"

The legend says that during the war of 1812, on the site of the present Shumilino, there was a noisy battle between the French and partisans who ambushed, and residents of nearby villages began to say that «the place was buzzing in battle with the French». The forest was soon nicknamed the Noisy Forest, and the nearby settlement was the Noisy Village, which was later transformed into Shumilino.
