Legend "Rakov stream"

On the outskirts of the town of Rakov there is a small stone chapel, from under which beats a stream. The local legend says that once the blind old man appeared in a dream the Mother of God and indicated a place under the tree where it was necessary to dig. A prayer found a spring there and, having washed himself, received his sight. The first thing he saw was the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos, from whose image the heavenly light emanated. A wooden chapel was installed at that place. And every month, from Easter until mid-September, they went there with a religious procession. During the years of Soviet power, 6 churches were destroyed in the Rakovsky parish, the miraculous icon of the Most Holy Theotokos disappeared, the wooden chapel was burned. Already after in its place a new stone was erected.
