One of such breaths of fresh air in the 70-80s of the last century was for us the festival in the small Italian town of San Remo. The town is small, but the San Remo festival was large, one might say, a cult event for millions of Soviet people. The whole country was watching TV. Stylish, dressed with impeccable taste, the singers then seemed like celestials, aliens from some other planet unknown to us. It was then the only competition that came to us from the West and was broadcast, albeit in recording, on television. It was then that we heard Toto Cutugno, the Rikki and Believe group, Adriano Celentano, Ricardo Fogli, Al Bano and Romina Power and many others. Today their songs are already classics of the pop genre , but then it was like a gust of fresh wind both for the audience and for our artists.
