XXV International festival of a modern choreography
Since November 21th till November 25th, 2012 the traditional XXV International festival of a modern choreography (IFMC) will take place in Vitebsk.The festival is established since 1987 and is the largest and one of the most prestigious in the field of a modern choreography at the territory of the Commonwealth and Europe. One of the main events of an anniversary festival is the International competition of a modern choreography. Participation will be accepted by choreographic collectives, ballet troupes and actors of the dancing projects which creativity corresponds with concept «a modern choreography». Competition is carried out on two nominations: one-act ballet, choreographic miniature.
This year collectives of a modern choreography of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, France, Germany, Holland, Japan, China, Israel will participate in the competition. The participants of competition are allowed to to define independently a genre of choreographic works, their quantity, subject and time of separate work, however the general time of execution of the competitive program which shouldn't exceed 20 minutes.
Competition will be carried out in two rounds. The first round is closed – there is the international jury, advisory council and participants of competition. Final round of competition is carried out publicly.
The poster of IFMC promises the interesting concert program. Traditionally, the public can see the best choreographic statements of winners of the previous IFMC, carrying out master classes of choreographers is planned also. The saturated program of a forum includes also the photo-exhibitions, enjoying wide popularity master classes, press conferences with participants and guests.
The international festival of a modern choreography in Vitebsk is urged to popularize creativity of the best Belarusian collectives of modern dance and to promote advance of the Belarusian choreographers in the European and world cultural space.
