March 2, 2025the district holiday «Gucanne vasny» in the village of Zhitomlya will be celebrated with folk festivities, fun and treats.

«Gucanne vasny» is a holiday that is not only bright, but also very musical. Girls began to call for spring, they sang spring songs. The peculiarity of such songs was that each verse ended with a loud cry of «Gu-u-u-u!». Hence the name - «guсanne».

On the site near the Zhitomlya House of Folklore, residents and guests of the holiday will enjoy: a theatrical performance, a concert of artists and amateur art groups of the Grodno region, as well as fun competitions. The festival heralding spring will not be complete without pancakes, which the festival participants will be able to enjoy! And the festival will end traditionally - with the burning of an effigy of winter.
