Mozyr celebrates the 856 anniversary

10th September 2011 Mozyr celebrates the 856 anniversary.

Mozyr is located in 130 km. from Gomel and has the biggest in Belarus port on the river Pripyat.
According to researchers, the ancient settlement from which the city originates, existed here in V century. For the first time in written sources of Mozyr is mentioned in 1155 in connection with its transfer by Kiev prince Yurij Dolgorukij to the Chernigov prince Svyatoslav Olgevich. 28th January 1577 the king Stefan Batory granted to a city the Magdebourg right and the press.

The citizens of Mozyr expects the interesting program. Holiday opening will take place at 12 o`clock on Lenin`s square, then celebrating will proceed on Zamkovaya hill. In the evening program of visitors waits performance of estradno-symphonic orchestra «Gomel regional philharmonic society» and Iskui Abaljan.
