The Second festival of ethnocultural traditions «Call of Polesye» 2012

On August 24-25th, 2012 in the village Lyahovichi Petrikov district will take place The Second festival of ethnocultural traditions «Call of Polesye» .
Preservation of traditions, desire to join to the beauty of a song and dance of the Polessky region to comprehend depth of national creativity was the basis for carrying out a festival of ethnocultural traditions in Petrikov at the territory of National park «Pripyatski» in 2010.
Since then the program of carrying out a festival is focused on preservation and promoting of ethnocultural traditions which are property of national culture of Belarus.
This year performers and keepers of national culture of Belarus, the master and handicraftsmen will take part in a festival from Gomel and Brest regions, one hundred guests from the republic, the foreign and neighboring countries. Along with amateur collectives in festival actions professional actors of Belarus will take part.
On the threshold of the main actions from August 15th to August 24th in the village Lyahovichi the competition of a wooden sculpture «Draulyny cud» in which masters of traditional woodcarving will take part. The wooden sculptures made her will be placed near a nature museum.
From August 21th to August 25th, 2012 will pass ethnographic camp «Letnik on Petrikovshchina» where specialists in folklore and ethnographers during expedition will meet local carriers of folklore in villages Golubitsa, Konkovichi, Mikhedovichi Petrikovsky district, will get acquainted with elements of traditional regional culture, will carry out master classes.
In the main days of a festival pressconference, solemn opening, competitive programs, concert speeches of actors of the Belarusian platform, opening of a museum of the nature, exhibition of thematic regional farmsteads and ethnic cuisine and many other things will take place.
Fans of fishing will be given opportunity to show skill and take part in competition among fishers; will pass races on boats, driving by motor ships, motor and veselny boats, the horses put to carriages will be organized. In the evening on the bank of the river Pripyat youth dancing entertainment program, festive fireworks will take place, and for small children work of attractions, entertainments, games and entertainments will be organized.
