XXVII International Festival of Ancient and modern chamber music
From March 13th till May 2d, 2014 in St. Sophia Cathedral in Polotsk the XXVII International Festival of Ancient and modern chamber music will be held.
During the festival concerts the world classics compositions and contemporary chamber and choral music will be presented to the listeners. The festival will feature artists from Belarus, Russia, Spain, Poland, Germany, Ukraine.
Festival Program:
March 13th - opening of the festival will be held at 18:00 - at the Concert Hall of St. Sophia Cathedral Honoured Artist of Belarus Oksana Volkova (mezzo-soprano) and an ensemble of soloists «Partita» will perform the program «Music kings»: will be performed the compositions of Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Marcello.
March 20th - The State Chamber Choir of the Republic of Belarus under the leadership of Honored Artist of Belarus Natalia Mikhailova will present a program of spiritual and secular choral music. Starts at 18:00.
March 23d - the concert of early music «Great Bach» on the birthday of the composer will be held at 15:00. The program includes the organ and chamber works of I.S. Bach performed by organist Kseniya Pogorelaya, soloist Jamila Amandurdyeva (mezzo-soprano) and chamber orchestra «Europe-Center» under the leadership of Rail Sadykov.
March 30th - the Concerto-Rhapsody: organist Kseniya Pogorelaya, chamber orchestra «Europe-Center» (conductor - Rail Sadykov), Exemplary choir of the Children's Art School №1 in Vitebsk (conductor - Vitaly Rouse), organist Joachim Eichhorn (Germany) will perform works of Faure, Franck, M. Coretta. The concert starts at 15:00.
April 3d - the Evening of piano music: Honored Artist of Russia Nina Seregina and her students Enrique Lapaz (Spain) and Valentina Bondarenko (Belarus) will present the works of R. Schumann, Chopin, Rachmaninov, Scriabin, E. Granados. The program starts at 18:00.
April 13th - the concert of sacred music will be held at 15:00: the soloist Dorota Tsalek (soprano) and organist Marietta Kruzel-Sosnowska (Poland). Program: M. Savva, P. Lukashevsky «Luctus Mariae».
April 25th - Academic Choir and Symphony Orchestra of the National State TV and Radio Company of Belarus conducted by Wilhelm Keitel will perform the work of contemporary German composer Gloria Bruni «Requiem a Roma» («Requiem in Rome»). Soprano will be performed by author. The program starts at 18:00.
May 2d - the Evening of romance - the final concert of the festival: People's Artist of Ukraine Igor Borko (tenor) and Honoured Artist of Ukraine Valery Balakhovskaya (piano, organ) will perform masterpieces of world classics and Ukrainian music. The concert starts at 18:00.
