Festival of Medieval Culture «Rubon»

From 29 to 31 May near the walls of St. Sophia Cathedral in Polotsk Festival of Medieval Culture «Rubon» takes place, where events related to the history of Polotchina will be reconstructed.

In 2010 the festival has entered into an international tourism project «Bella Dvina». One of the major activities of the project is the festival in Polotsk, which has a great interest among knight clubs and tourists from Russia, Lithuania, Poland and Belarus.

For guests of the festival theatrical performances, performances of folk groups and performers of Belarusian music will be organized. As a part of the festival an exhibition of museum exhibits will be held. In addition everyone can enjoy Belarusian cuisine and buy souvenirs.

In the program of the festival of medieval culture: the tournament of archers and knights, fencing, sword fights, buhurts - team battles of knights dressed in armor on medieval rules, old games with the audience. Artisans will present their works: blacksmiths, potters, gunsmiths, weavers, jewelers, products of which you can purchase at the fair.
