Smilovichi - an urban settlement in the Chervensky district of the Minsk region of Belarus. It is located on the river Volmа, in 27 km east of Minsk, 30 km west of Cherven. The settlement is located on the M4 highway (Minsk - Mogilyov). The nearest railway station is Rudensk, in 21 km from the settlement.

History of the development - Smilovichi

The first mention of Smilovichi dates back to 1483 year. Smilovichi has been known in official written sources since 1592 as a small town within the Minsk Voivodeship of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
1767 - a Roman Catholic monastery and a church of St. Vincent (since 1791) were erected in Smilovichi.
From 1793, as a result of the second partition of Poland, Smilovichi became part of Russia.
In 1924-1931 and 1935-1938, Smilovichi is the administrative center of the Smilovichi district.
From June 1941 to July 1944 - Smilovich was under occupation of the German fascist invaders, who killed more than 2000 inhabitants here.
In the 1938-1960 years Smilovichi were part of the Rudensky district. From 1960 to the present, Smilovichi are part of the Chervensky district.
