At the beginning of the XVIII century Zaose belonged to the Chechotov family, and in the middle of the XVIII century it passed to the possession of brothers Michael and Jozef Yanovich. However, not being able to pay off the debts, the brothers were forced to transfer their possessions to the Mitskevicz family, who in 1785 became its full owners. The village Zaose gained fame thanks to the well-known representative of this family, the Belarusian-Polish poet Adam Mickiewicz.
