The celebrations dedicated to the Victory Day, pass in all cities and towns of Belarus, but on a substantial scale, of course, in the capital – Minsk. This day whole Minsk dazzles with flags and banners in honour of the defenders. Thematic signboards and extensions are made out, museums prepare special expositions, theatres represent performances on military subjects.
The Victory Day opens many years with the procession of veterans under the Nezavisimosty (Independence) avenue from the Palace of veterans to the Obelisk on the Victory square. On all memorials and city monuments flowers and wreaths are solemnly assigned for the memory of those who won our freedom. At the city platforms play military orchestras, professional and amateur collectives act.
