Minsk , Festival 11 April 2014

III International Short Film Festival Cinema Perpetuum Mobile will be held from 11th till 27th of April 2014.

Cinema Perpetuum Mobile is a non-profit cultural event, organized by volunteers. The festival was founded in 2011 by an open community of independent filmmakers Kinaklub.org. The purpose of the meeting is to support and promote independent auteur, promoting budding filmmakers, cultural diversity in the cinema, the development of cooperation between the filmmakers and the filmmaking communities.
Within 3 years of the Festival, not only the number of its participants increased, but also the geography. This year, filmmakers from 70 countries sent 800 films that were shown at the 32 public previews. 330 people voted for their favorite films to be included in the program of the festival in April. The shows will take place not only in Minsk, but also in other regional centers and major cities of Belarus, as well as outside the country.

The competition video duration is from 3 to 30 minutes and the movies are performed in various genres: comedy, drama, romance, thriller. The program consists of sections of animation, feature films, non-feature films, documentary and experimental films. The films are somehow connected with the theme of perpetual motion, affect eternal themes and raise troubling questions.

In April 2014, the festival once again bring together film professionals, volunteers, spectators, people who really love the movie, and all indifferent to the eternal cinema motion.

A unique open-air exhibition, «Le Corbusier: Minsk Echo» has opened in the very heart of historic Minsk. It is timed to coincide with the XVI National Architecture Festival and dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Belarusian Union of Architects. The project is being implemented with the support of the Embassy of France and the Embassy of Switzerland in the Republic of Belarus, as well as with the participation of the Minsk History Museum.

The exhibition introduces viewers to the work of one of the most influential architects of the 20th century, Charles-Edouard Jeanneret-Gris, better known to the world as Le Corbusier. His ideas radically changed the appearance of cities around the world, from France and Switzerland to India and the USSR. Le Corbusier's innovative concept of five architectural principles formed the foundation of modernist architecture and influenced the appearance of post-war Minsk: from the microdistricts of the 1960s–1980s to the water-green diameter of the capital.

The exhibition presents the master's completed projects in Switzerland and France — the countries with which the origins and flourishing of his work are associated. This traveling exhibition helps to look at the Minsk urban environment in a new way — through the prism of ideas that shaped the architectural thinking of the 20th century.

«Le Corbusier: Minsk Echo» is not just an exhibition, but an invitation to comprehend the city in which we live and the architectural reality that shapes us every day.
