Festival of Free and unusual excursions in Belarus «Guides Fest - 2016».

23 - 24 of April 2016 the main belarusian festival of guides «Guides Fest - 2016» will be held on the streets of Minsk and in other Belarusian cities. This year the organizers of the event promise a larger territorial scope, as well as many surprises for guides, and for future tourists. Only in Minsk during the festival there will be held no less than 100 free excursions.

The Organizing Committee of the event include:

Public organization «Belarus Committee ICOMOS»,
Public organization «Belarusian association of tourist guides and guide-interpreters»,
Specialized online project for excursions and guides of Belarus Guides.by,
Advertising agency «Media IVI».

In 2016 the festival will be supported by the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of Belarus.
Through free excursions the organizers of the fest want to attract locals to the history of the places where they live. The festival also pursues global goal - the development of «creativity» of tour business in Belarus.

Open exhibition «LE CORBUSIER: Minsk Echo»

A unique open-air exhibition, «Le Corbusier: Minsk Echo» has opened in the very heart of historic Minsk. It is timed to coincide with the XVI National Architecture Festival and dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Belarusian Union of Architects. The project is being implemented with the support of the Embassy of France and the Embassy of Switzerland in the Republic of Belarus, as well as with the participation of the Minsk History Museum.

The exhibition introduces viewers to the work of one of the most influential architects of the 20th century, Charles-Edouard Jeanneret-Gris, better known to the world as Le Corbusier. His ideas radically changed the appearance of cities around the world, from France and Switzerland to India and the USSR. Le Corbusier's innovative concept of five architectural principles formed the foundation of modernist architecture and influenced the appearance of post-war Minsk: from the microdistricts of the 1960s–1980s to the water-green diameter of the capital.

The exhibition presents the master's completed projects in Switzerland and France — the countries with which the origins and flourishing of his work are associated. This traveling exhibition helps to look at the Minsk urban environment in a new way — through the prism of ideas that shaped the architectural thinking of the 20th century.

«Le Corbusier: Minsk Echo» is not just an exhibition, but an invitation to comprehend the city in which we live and the architectural reality that shapes us every day.
