World Cup stage on freestyle in Raubichy

The international federation of skiing has confirmed a calendar of competitions for a season-2011/12. The Belarus sport center «Raubichy» again, as well as in the past season, signs one of World Cup stages on freestyle in ski acrobatics.

The World Cup stage in Raubichy becomes the eighth under the account and is planned on Saturday, on February, 25th, 2012. In total in a forthcoming season it is planned to spend 10 stages of a World Cup.

On February, 19th 2011 Raubichi accepted for the first time a World Cup stage on ski acrobatics. Anton Kushnir became its winner, and one more Belarus sportsman Denis Osipov has appeared the bronze prize-winner.

Following the results of all past draw of a World Cup which came to the end in Raubichah, Anton Kushnir has taken the second place in the general offset. The first place following the results of a season has occupied Chinese Tsi Guanpju, and Swiss Renato Ulrih has appeared the third.

Open exhibition «LE CORBUSIER: Minsk Echo»

A unique open-air exhibition, «Le Corbusier: Minsk Echo» has opened in the very heart of historic Minsk. It is timed to coincide with the XVI National Architecture Festival and dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Belarusian Union of Architects. The project is being implemented with the support of the Embassy of France and the Embassy of Switzerland in the Republic of Belarus, as well as with the participation of the Minsk History Museum.

The exhibition introduces viewers to the work of one of the most influential architects of the 20th century, Charles-Edouard Jeanneret-Gris, better known to the world as Le Corbusier. His ideas radically changed the appearance of cities around the world, from France and Switzerland to India and the USSR. Le Corbusier's innovative concept of five architectural principles formed the foundation of modernist architecture and influenced the appearance of post-war Minsk: from the microdistricts of the 1960s–1980s to the water-green diameter of the capital.

The exhibition presents the master's completed projects in Switzerland and France — the countries with which the origins and flourishing of his work are associated. This traveling exhibition helps to look at the Minsk urban environment in a new way — through the prism of ideas that shaped the architectural thinking of the 20th century.

«Le Corbusier: Minsk Echo» is not just an exhibition, but an invitation to comprehend the city in which we live and the architectural reality that shapes us every day.
