Sport, ethnographic, museum and ski centers, squares and parks of Minsk invite you to celebrate Maslenitsa. In 2015 celebration of Pancake Day takes place in February from 16 to 22.

Maslenitsa or Pancake week is the traditional Slavic holiday, which is celebrated from pagan times. This cheerful and colorful event has not lost its relevance nowadays, because it involves a lot of elaborate rituals and traditions.

It is known that Maslenitsa is not a holiday, but a whole series of events, the most important element of which is the broad festivities. Pancake week Razguliay is amusing street event, consisting of a number of traditional pastimes of our ancestors and competitions, as well as tasty treats. The culmination of the celebrations is a ritual burning of winter effigy.
